Sept. 18 RoundTable: Effectively Coaching Low-Income Job Seekers

How we view education and the work world is shaped, in part, by our socioeconomic background. Employment specialists and career advisors are better equipped to help their students and clients meet their goals when the practitioners are aware of their own perspectives, as well as the perspectives and motivations of the people they are helping.

This RoundTable Discussion will address some strategies and barriers to help working class job seekers and people battling poverty to enter and move up in a career pathway. Come share your experiences, practices and questions.

Participants:

  • Job Training Providers
  • WorkForce Center Counselors
  • Volunteers and Employment Counselors in Community-Based Organizations
  • Adult Basic Education Staff and Volunteers
  • Career Coaches and Advisors Working with Low-Income Job Seekers
