History Timeline
1920

Beginning of MCDA as a branch of the National Vocational Guidance Association called Minneapolis VGA. The name continues to change, next to Twin Cities Vocational Guidance Association

1944

MN Vocational Guidance Association (new name) is formally incorporated

1971

MVGA receives its state charter

1980

National Vocational Guidance Association becomes National Career Development Association (NCDA)

1986

MVGA changes name to Minnesota Career Development Association (MCDA)

1999

MCDA incorporates as a 501(C)3 with the State of Minnesota
