Hello! I am Gina Ganno Schmidt, your board secretary for the next two years. I am a passionate career educator, student services advisor, and native pollinator gardener.
Throughout my personal and professional environments, I strive to cultivate diverse, fertile habitats where people and wildlife can bloom and thrive.
As a career advisor and educator, I excel at guiding college students of all ages, stages, and identities through the career management process. I am especially honored to have received a 'DEI Excellence in Service Award' from North Hennepin Community College for my equity focus with underserved students.
Currently, I am supporting my community as a Watershed Action Volunteer, mentoring with Disability: IN Minnesota, teaching a career course in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, and pursuing an ICF Level 2 coaching credential.
My formal education includes: MS in Academic Advising from Kansas State University, BS in Management from Eckerd College, and an AAS in Culinary Arts from St. Paul College. I have previously served on the board of Slow Food - Twin Cities.
