Winter Roundtable Recap!

February 11th, 2018 Leave a comment Go to comments

The most recent MCDA round table was facilitated by Vic Massaglia on Jan. 24 on the topic of Self as an Instrument: Discovering and Articulating Our “Why, How, and What”. MCDA board member Shelley Jensen-Decker had this to say about the event:

As always, Vic provided thought provoking content and questions which initiated a great discussion among the participants. He offered the idea of starting with “why” – our sense of purpose and using that purpose to have more impact in our work with clients and students. In addition, he tied in the importance of emotional intelligence, particularly self-awareness, as well as authenticity and understanding our individual biases. We had the opportunity to spend some time working on our own personal “why”, then discussed the “how” – understanding how I consult – and “what” – sharpening the skills I need to live my purpose. Vic also offered some great resources, including the book, Find Your Why: A Practical Guide for Discovering Purpose for You and Your Team , by Simon Sinek, and this Start with Why Ted Talk:
