Please join us on Wednesday, October 26th from 6:30 – 7:30 pm for our first MCDA professional development webinar of the 2022-23 season on the topic of The Job Search Emotional Roller Coaster: Helping Clients Cope. There will also be optional discussion and networking time from 7:30 – 8:00 pm for those that wish to participate. This event has been approved for one NCDA Continuing Education credit.

Job seekers are often dealing with a roller coaster of emotions from excitement to hope to disappointment. With the tumultuous job market during the pandemic, job seekers are feeling more unsettled even in an improved market. Helping clients understand and manage emotions can lead to greater effort and success.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about this overlooked career development topic including relevant research
  • Identify roles for career counselors and processes for clients
  • Hear language that can be used with clients to normalize and inspire
  • Experience specific mental, emotional and physical techniques that can help clients regain or keep a positive attitude.

This event is FREE to all MCDA members and costs $20 for non-members. If you’re not currently a member of MCDA, now is a great time to join! For annual dues of only $70 per year (or $35 per year for students or retirees), you will receive access to social networking events, our 2022-23 slate of four professional development events, a reduced rate for the annual conference, members-only access to our Online Membership Directory, and the MCDA Newsletter.
